Manual removal of leaves ("Effeuillage")
Time spent: 30 hours / hectare

In the bunch zone, leaves are removed by hand.

ADVANTAGES

  • Better health and exposure to sun for the bunches
  • Better vine quality
  • Shorter clearing time (see below)
  • Less manual grape picking (harvest)

DISADVANTAGES AND RISKS

  • With mechanical leave removal, berries may be wounded
  • In the summer, bunches may be sun burnt ("échaudage")

  • Risk of overproduction the year after.


Maturity control
Time spent: 1hour / hectare
 

Observation and berry testing,
200 berries are picked twice a week during a full month before harverst and this for each type of grape.

These tests allow to harvest the grapes at the optimum time. analyse permettront de récolter les raisins à leur optimum qualitatif.
