In the vineyards,

In this page we will show you in detail all the steps we go through to make our wine -starting from the vine stock and upto the harvest,.

The vineyard is located on the hill, exposed to the south and south-west, at an altitude of 100 meters overlooking the Dordogne Valley.

The soil ("Terroir
")
A clay/limestone soil with gravel underneath it.

The grapes :
  • 50 % Merlot
  • 30 % Cabernet Franc
  • 20 % Cabernet Sauvignon

Here is the standard labor we do every year to fulfill the following "Quality Itinerary":

for 5000 vine stocks per hectare (= 2025 vine stocks per acre; 1 hectare = 2.47 acre)

- Manual Labor: 208 hours per hectare
- Mechanical Labor: 30 hours per hectare

Total: 238 hours per hectare

Which amounts to 85 hours more than for a "CLASSIC ITINERARY" without counting the storehouse work nor any marketing time.
.

One needs a grape of quality to make a wine of quality.
